My adventures looking thru the viewfinder (following a white rabbit and twinkling bat)

This is a great read so I had to repost it.

This one reminds me of the Lego Tower photo I took awhile ago.

I was worried I’d be very sore from those stairs we had to take down to Swami’s Beach and then back up yesterday with Little A on my back, and I was right. I woke up with the worst burning sensation in my calves. I’m literally gimping around right now, so as you would imagine, I didn’t do much picture taking today. In fact, I never even left the house today.
So, today’s photo is from the archives. It’s an old honeymoon shot from March 2004 shot with the very first Canon Powershot Elph ever (point and shoot). The rocks are the Faglioni on the island of Capri, one of the most heavenly places on this planet. I dream of someday returning again. What a place! It’s been interesting to look back at the photos I’ve taken so long ago. It’s painful looking at all the bad shots I took but it’s good to see I’ve learned so much since then.

Afterwards, we came back to Aubrie’s mom & stepdad’s house. They live in a heavenly little spot right across the street from Swami’s Beach. I put Little A on my back in the Ergo carrier and they all helped me with the rest of my stuff. When you have a toddler you bring a lot of stuff to the beach! Aubrie’s mom Helena and friend Trevor also joined us to go to the beach. On our walk there we had to cross the train tracks to get over to the beach (where I shot the above photo on our way home). The hard part was going down and then back up several flights of stairs with a 30 pound monkey on my back! Hope I’m not too sore tomorrow. We spent several hours relaxing at the beach. It was so lovely. Little A loves the beach. He was so happy.
After the beach we all went to Wine Steals for some yummy pizza, salad and wine. A funny highlight was watching Little A lick the goat cheese off of his toast at Wine Steals. Pure comedy! A perfect day indeed!

We passed a cute pumpkin patch on our walk

At bedtime we let Little A pretend to brush his teeth before we do the real job. I caught this cute one of him tonight.
I just discovered Elena Kalis’ work from Twitter. Her photos are very stunning and imaginative. She shoots most of her work underwater and the ones that are just below the surface are really interesting. I especially love the underwater photos she did to portray Alice Through the Looking Glass.

On my way home from class tonight I had to stop for gas and ended up getting a car wash too. Realizing I hadn’t shot a single photo today, I decided to see what I’d get with my camera inside the car wash. I haven’t figured out how to add audio to my site, but you know the song. You’re welcome to sing along too!

You might not ever get rich
But let me tell ya it’s better that diggin’ a ditch.
There ain’t no tellin’ who ya might meet. .
A movie star or may be even an Indian Chief.

Workin’ at the car wash yeah !
Come on and sing it with me car wash.
Get with the feelin’ y’all car wash yeah.
Come summer the work gets kind a hard
This ain’t no place to be if ya planned on being a star.
Let me tell you it’s always cool
And the boss don’t mind sometimes if ya act a fool.

Talkin’ about the car wash yeah!
Come on and sing it for me car wash.
Car wash yeah!
(Work and work) Well those cars never seem to stop comin’.
(Work and work) Keep those rags and machines hummin’
(Work and work) my fingers to the bone
(Work) at five I can’t wait ’til it’s time to go home

This is a photo of our kitty Jobim (Joji for short). He is quite the handsome lad and he really isn’t fat at all, he’s just all fur. When we let all our pets out in the backyard you can usually find Joji hanging out in this basket. He’s a real lover of a cat who just likes to chill. He’s never caught a mouse or a bird and he’s a pretty useless hunter, but we still love him very much. We adopted him many years ago from the animal shelter when he was already 3 years old. We thought it would be good to adopt an older cat since not as many people want the older ones. We consider him our “gentle giant.”

Here’s Little A and Joji together. Even though Little A can get a little much and almost harasses him, Joji is always very patient and lets him pet him. He’s a very sweet kitty.
