I found these cute little ornaments at Ikea this year – 10 for $2.99. I hung them on a tiny metal Christmas tree that I have on our dining room table. I love their cute little faces and their hair is fabulous!

On this day we visited our dear friends Scott, Deanna and their pooch Asia at their brand new house. Deanna and I find it funny that we’ve both decided to go with mid-century modern furniture for our new houses and we never spoke about it before. We do this a lot where we are just on the same wavelength, like I’ll text her at the same as she is texting me. So weird!

Here’s Little A playing with his new pots and pans set and pretending to cook in his room.
Day 191 was Christmas day. I woke up to a fire in the fireplace and a yummy eggs and bacon breakfast. We opened gifts and stayed in our PJ’s until the late afternoon. It was a lovely way to spend Christmas morning, especially since in all the years prior we were running around visiting a lot of people. In the afternoon my in-laws and my Mom and Stepdad came over for dinner. It was so nice to have them over and not have to leave the house once that day.
The below photo is of our family room. I just had to document the lovely fire. The fireplace decor will probably change. We also need a TV/media cabinet. Right now the hubby and I are in disagreement on where the TV will go. I like it in the corner, but it’s going to be a challenge to find the right fit for a media stand that will hold as big a TV as he wants. He, on the other hand, wants to mount it above the fireplace. I don’t like that idea because it seems like we’ll be straining our necks to look up at the TV all the time. What do you think?

Our very own Reindoggy!

See that retro mirror there that looks like something your Grandma had? I scored it on CL for only $25!! I wanted it to reflect the beautiful foliage outside and I can see there that the juniper trees are reflected. Do you like it?

Here’s a photo of the yummy “present” cake that Little A’s Grandma Paula made.

These adorable kids are Little A’s cousins–Annika, Kian and Annalise. The newest one at only 3 months of age is Annalise.

Each year I really look forward to this event because it’s the only time I get to sing Christmas carols and have Aunt Stinne’s amazing Christmas cookies.
……at the Ikea Returns department. My little boy climbs right out of his stroller now. Thankfully, on this day he stayed near me and sat on the couch while we waited for the Ikea returns department to call our number.

On this day we went to the mall with Trisha and Ani so we could have the kids take a photo with Santa. It wasn’t uneventful. First of all, Asher got salsa all over his nice shirt at lunch since he eats it like soup. (That was his mommy’s fault for not thinking about that.) The only thing I had in the diaper bag was a long sleeved hoodie. He hates wearing long sleeves. He had a full-on tantrum as I tried to put it on him. At the last minute I found his striped race car shirt, which he thankfully likes a lot. He was much happier to wear that shirt. The battles over what he wears are so funny and they give me quite the headache these days.
We were the last ones in line since everyone else was being turned away so that Santa could go on a break. He hadn’t had a break all day (not even to go potty) and it was 2:30pm. Poor Santa! We decided to have their photo taken together since they are the best of friends. It’s also expensive! It was $20 just to get the photo on disc without any prints, so having it taken together reduced our cost by $10 each. I snuck a photo with my own camera.
Poor Ani didn’t like sitting on Santa’s lap at all. She was all dressed up in a cute little dress for her photo, but we wound up with a photo of her crying and her bloomers showing! Asher looks really concerned in the photo too, like he’s wondering why she’s crying. Oh, well….this’ll be one to tease her about someday when she’s older.
Oy! I’ve fallen so miserably behind again on my Project 365. Here I go again trying to catch up….(sigh)….
