Photo Blog Project 365: Day 182 – My Sweet Little Angel

Day-182--IMG_1292

On this day I ventured out to Ikea for their yummy meatballs (hey, they were half price, only $2.50 after 4pm!) and because I was on the hunt for more throw pillows for our sectional and two dining chairs.  Unfortunately, the reproduction Tulip style chairs I ordered from Overstock weren’t as cool as I had hoped.  They look cool.  The quality wasn’t great and everytime I sat on one of them one of the screws would make a popping noise, which was very annoying.  So they’re going back!  I’m bummed because almost everything else I’ve ever ordered from them I’ve been very pleased with.

Anyway, I found two dining chairs at Ikea for the heads of the dining table.  I’m giving up on the Tulip style chairs for now but I still want something mid-century/Danish modern in style.  I found just the right chairs at Ikea.  They were being discontinued so they were marked down from $100 to only $60 each. I bought the very last two they had.

After Little A ate his meatballs he ended up passing out in the stroller with his blankie.  I caught this cute photo of him with my iPhone.  He is such an angel, most especially while sleeping.  I’m amazed with his super long eyelashes and can’t help being envious.  I mean, us women are the ones who need the long eyelashes, not boys!  Yet somehow my hubby and son have longer eyelashes than I do.  Go figure!

Photo Blog Project 365: Day 140 – Lunch at Lake Miramar

Day-140--IMG_0922

Day-140--IMG_0923Today Little A and I met the hubby and Little A’s Grandpa at Lake Miramar for lunch.  We picked up some sub sandwiches and ate them on the picnic tables.  There were a bunch of geese hanging out right there that started coming towards us all excited because they thought we were going to feed them.  Those birds are huge!  I was definitely afraid.  I mean, look at the knobs on their heads!  After we finished lunch they walked down to the boat ramp to go see the lake and I tried to get down low to shoot a more interesting photo of the three of them with my iPhone.   One of those white geese tried to peck at my head.  I think because I got down low he thought he could show me who was boss.  Wow, I never knew geese could be so mean!  Anyway, as usual it was yet another gorgeous day at the lake…nice and warm.  Everyone had a nice time, although it was a pretty short visit since they were on their lunch breaks and had to get back to work.

Photo Blog Project 365: Day 139 – Bubbles!

Today we played with bubbles in the backyard!  Little A accidentally spilled half the bottle of bubble solution so I had to rinse off the pavement.  This created a little pond where he played with his sailboat.  BTW, that last photo is the first photo Little A has ever taken.  His favorite thing to do is play with my iPhone and now he knows how to take photos with it.  Uh oh….

Holga Photos – Engagement Photo Shoot at Japanese Friendship Garden, Balboa Park

Here are the rest of the Holga shots that turned out well.  The way it’s been working for me is that I only get between 1-5 great shots out of the roll of 12.  My goal is to get all great shots on the roll.  I’m still loving my Holga, even though sometimes the results are unpredictable.  I wish the groom’s face was more lit up in the 3rd photo, but I love that look of adoration on their faces and I still love that shot.  I also got a lot of random lines, specks, and scratches that are very tedious to clean up in Photoshop.  I’m pretty sure it’s not my scanner since I just cleaned the glass.  I think it might be time to buy a brand new Holga since it seems it might be scratching the film.  My absolute favorite is this first one of the groom kissing the bride on the cheek.  I can’t believe I got lens flare that is centered perfectly on top of her forehead!  Oh, well…maybe she’ll still like the shot.  It almost looks like it could be part of her outfit. Or, maybe she’ll think it’s good luck (the bride is five months pregnant).

Photo Blog Project 365: Day 133 – How Each Day Should Begin

Day-133--How-Each-Day-Must-Begin

I actually took this photo yesterday while waiting in the car to go into my yoga class (got there a bit early).  I started the day today with a cup of coffee as well as a caramel apple, which made it even better!  I think I’m addicted to caramel apples.  This is one of the many reasons why I love the Fall.

I’ve been so very tired today.  It feels like I’ve been walking around in a zombie-like haze.  I need more sleep.  This photo was taken from the sidewalk in front of my house today.  I liked how the clouds looked like they stacked on top of each other to make the shape of the Pilsbury Dough Man waving, “Hi.”  I took it with my iPhone and used Chase Jarvis’ “Best Camera” app to process it.  I love that I can just email it to myself as well as to FB and Twitter if I so desire all at the same time.  From there I can just post it to my blog without ever having to pull it up in Photoshop.  So easy and so great, especially when you’re so tired like I am.  Hmm that gives me a great idea….I think I might just continue this blog using only my iPhone and the Best Camera App. to save time and keep it simple.  Good night all!  I have an appointment with my pillow….zzzzz…..
